Howdy, stranger (also: COMMISSIONS?!)Sorry it's been so long since I've really done much on dA. I guess I got busy and got out of the habit. Life is crazy, and you always seem to carry on, striving for the day where it will finally be smooth - but then you realize, that day probably never comes.
Oh well, take life for what it is, and try to make the most with what you have
Anyway, I have a question for all you eager watchers of mine (yep, all.... 2 of you). I've been wanting to go to Anime Expo in California for quite some time, primarily to meet my ol' friends *Pompi, ~Cotton-Keyk, and ~SleepyDoodler. This year, our mutual friend ~ruina will be making the trip!! So I've decided, this year is the year for me to try, too.
Problem is.... MONETS! ...and by that I mean money. It costs at least $400 to fly out there if I'm lucky, not to mention costs of living that I'll have to pay since I'd rather not live out on the streets of LA and fight pigeons for breadcrumbs. Along with the huge expense that AX would be, I have more important things that have to come first, like my rent and medical expenses
and if I don't find ways to raise more money, there is no chance I can make enough to pay for all of this and then AX trip on top of that.I'm starting to get wordier than I need to be, so let's get to the point: I need money, and maybe YOU can help! Which brings me to.....
COMMISSIONS!! do you want them?!

Would any of you actually be interested? I would most likely be doing cute pics, since I'm not yet confident enough in my more realistic proportions with cool poses and backgrounds. I'm thinking maybe along the lines of the FL-chan pic I just posted.
Let me know if any of you would be interested, or know someone who would. I'm not sure how much to charge, but I really need to raise money.

Come to think of it though, Gaia is a goldmine (no pun intended). People kill for avi art there sometimes, o.O maybe I should try there after this...

The helm is actually an item based off of the helm Lucy wears at the start of Elfen Lied and thus I pretend in my mind that it IS the helm..and that Gaia just made it look different....so it should look like the Elfen Lied version.
Then just that awesome mountain gear stuff of the jacket, gloves, pants, spiked shoes (the spikes are glitched on my character. One of the other items makes them look like that....)
He's got falcon wings and two of those weird almost large kunai like double-sided blades. And yeah, those swooshy things are actually different items that I got (lunar scythes actually) that in one form can be shown in mid swing so I use them to make my avi look like he is slashing. So, in short, those are just marks left by slashing. ^_^ No need for them to be in any possible pic unless he is slashing! Woot. My profile [link] has a list of what he is equipped with and some of the items can be clicked on for an info page if you wanna see. Others, like the falcon and weapons, don't as they are special items but meh. Those items are those monthly collectibles and have many forms for avatars to wear them as.
I can see why you might feel bad asking for money from friends...but I completely understand! I think the more important part is what methods of payment do you have available. I'm certain you won't charge an arm AND a leg for a colored pic. Maybe an arm and a foot for a color with background...and just the arm for colored. A foot maybe if just a sketch...XD

But I can give a little input for price ranges. :3 Having done some commissions here and there, I'd reccomend charging according to how much time and effort is spent into a picture.
And things like backgrounds/extra characters/a lot of detail can raise the price. So for example, I spend 3-6 hours on a CG, so I would never go below $20-30, and probably even raise it higher than that according to the afformentioned extras.
In other words, charge what you feel you're worth. Don't skimp on prices if a helluva lotta work goes into your pictures (which are very cute, btw~).
